Announcing The Product-Minded "QA"

👋 Hi! I'm Susanne, a Quality Engineering leader with a product-minded approach to testing and QA.

If you follow me on LinkedIn, you know that in December of 2024, I decided to leave my role leading Quality Engineering for the Core product org at Dropbox.

Since then, I’ve spent a lot of time reading about tech, software testing, and AI. Blogs, articles, books... and way too many LinkedIn posts 🙃.

I’ve also been spending a lot of time thinking about what I want my next role to look like. But it turns out thinking isn’t enough. I need to write it down - to pressure-test my own opinions, organize my thoughts, and maybe spark some interesting discussions along the way.

So, here we are.

I won't be using this blog as a place for me to share polished, fully-formed ideas. I’ll be thinking out loud, refining as I go, and (hopefully) learning from the conversations that come out of it. Some posts might be long and structured, others might be quick thoughts or questions.

So, what can you expect? To start, I'll be exploring how testing fits across the entire product development lifecycle and of course the broader picture: how to embed quality into product decisions, team culture, and company processes. I'll also share my thoughts on human-performed vs. machine-performed testing (when each is valuable and how they complement each other), and ways that I think that AI might impact the craft.
