Hi 👋
I'm Susanne, and for most of my career I was a QA. (Which is a funny thing to say, because you can't really *be* a quality assurance. But it's what people say. And I get it).
These days I'm a Technical Program Manager, which is somehow even harder to explain to my mom? I tell her that I help teams work together better to build computer things, but for y'all: I build the systems and processes that help teams ship software that's actually aligned to what the business needs (with less chaos and better quality along the way 😉).
I spent 17 years in quality and testing before this, which made me really good at spotting gaps and asking uncomfortable questions, and my time spent in engineering leadership at Dropbox taught me how to translate quality and engineering work into language that executives care about (I even wrote two lessons in MoT's Software Quality Engineering Certificate program about it 😉). So, as you can tell, I still think a lot about quality even though it's not in my title anymore.
I'm currently the only TPM at Resilience, a Series D cyber resilience company. I'm figuring out what "good TPM work" looks like here and building the function from scratch.
I write about program leadership and delivery, software engineering and quality, building team cultures centered around care, frameworks I actually use in my work, and more personal stream-of-thought posts.
You can also find me on LinkedIn and less frequently, Bluesky.
